The project, implemented in collaboration with AV Water and local utility stakeholders, represents a key milestone in the company’s U.S. expansion strategy. Hundreds of connected Meter Interface Units (MIUs) have been deployed across the city, enabling automated meter reading and enhanced operational visibility.
The deployment is powered by the company’s Sienna MX1 platform, utilizing cellular Cat‑M connectivityto eliminate the need for dedicated network infrastructure while ensuring reliable, wide-area coverage. Data collected from the field is managed and analyzed through the BrightCity MDMS, providing utilities with actionable insights, streamlined billing workflows, and improved system control.
Implementation is being carried out in close coordination with AV Water and local teams, including system integration, installer training, and operational alignment to ensure a smooth transition from legacy processes to modern smart water management.
“We see Colcord as an important reference for our U.S. expansion,” said Amir Hirsch, President & CEO. “By combining cellular Cat‑M connectivity with the BrightCity platform, we are enabling utilities to deploy smart metering faster, reduce infrastructure costs, and gain immediate operational value.”
Key Benefits
Cellular Cat‑M connectivity delivering wide coverage without dedicated network infrastructure
BrightCity MDMS enabling centralized data management, analytics, and billing integration
Improved visibility into water usage and system performance
Enhanced operational efficiency through automated meter readings
Scalable architecture supporting future expansion and advanced applications
The Colcord project highlights ST Engineering Telematics Wireless’ commitment to delivering simple, scalable, and cost-effective smart water solutions, particularly for small and mid-sized utilities seeking rapid digital transformation without the complexity of traditional AMI networks.
